At Three Rivers Behavioral Health, a 136 bed facility located in West Columbia, SC, we provide psychiatric, detoxification/rehabilitation, and dual diagnosis treatment through inpatient services for adolescents and adults. Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and seniors and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions.
Responsibilities
Full Time Nurse Educator. Enhances the skills and knowledge of nursing staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to provide high-quality patient care. Requires a strong background in nursing, along with expertise in training development and medical documentation. Works with various departments to develop educational programs that align with current medical standards and practices. Responsible for delivering quality general and psychiatric nursing care to adolescent and adult patients hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders; serves as a constructive member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team; supports the organization and unit philosophy of care; ensures the safety and well-being of each patient. Key Physical Requirements Ability to continuously walk and stand for duration of shift. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, lift objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally from position to position. Exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Manual dexterity and physical agility to perform de-escalation procedures. Must be able to deal with aggressive, hostile, and irrational behavior of patients calmly and therapeutically. Must be able to respond immediately to crisis situations concerning patients and/or family members; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions, such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic. Currently licensed in South Carolina or compact state as a Registered Nurse. Experience: 5 years RN experience with 2 years in behavioral health preferred. At least 1 year of professional/staff development or nursing education preferred. Thorough understanding of patient milieu management including age-specific and cultural requirements; knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA regulations and other relevant regulatory standards including Baker Act. BLS/CPI Certification training required. Facility will provide.
