Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Assistant based in the ambulatory clinic at VMMC in Seattle, WA. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing clinical support to healthcare providers, including taking patient histories, conducting basic vital sign assessments, assisting with surgical dressing changes, and performing small procedures in the clinic. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist in patient care coordination, maintain medical records, and perform routine administrative tasks. The role requires effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Qualifications
Clinical skills: Ability to take patient histories, conduct basic vital sign examination, and assistance with minor procedures. Patient care coordination: Proficient English language skills required. Prior experience in assisting with patient care and maintaining medical records preferred. Administrative skills: Competence in performing routine administrative tasks. Basic computer skills required. Interpersonal skills: Effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team is essential. Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification: Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant. Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Additional qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Seniority level
