Overview
Summary: Faculty Position: Hematopathologist. The Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a candidate, M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., for its Academic Hematopathologist position with a primary focus on bone marrows. The appointment is commensurate with qualifications and will be in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology.
Responsibilities We are closely affiliated with large and expanding programs in Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplant, with emphasis on myelodysplasia, acute leukemia and lymphoma. Our CAR-T cell program offers opportunities to combine diagnostic pathology and immunotherapy. The candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists, with opportunities to join established basic research programs, as well as translational research in related areas. We train Pathology residents and Hematopathology fellows.
Qualifications Successful applicants must be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology or have board certification eligibility. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is also preferred. Clinical duties include evaluation of peripheral blood, bone marrow and lymph node specimens. Opportunities for molecular diagnostic and NGS testing are available for candidates with molecular pathology training. Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.
