Overview
We are seeking a part-time 16-hour Nurse Practitioner to support our Gastroenterology office. Weekly schedules include 13.5 hours of patient-facing clinical time and 2.5 hours of administrative time. The practice is open to patients Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The position is located at 1681 Washington Street, Braintree MA 02184.
The APPs share panels with physicians to enhance operations, increase patient volume and efficiency, and provide excellent patient care and experience. Providers work autonomously to the top of their licensure while functioning as part of a team. Compassion and emotional support for patients are highly valued.
Responsibilities
Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to the patient population in the ambulatory setting
Perform complete histories and physical examinations
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies
Ensure high-quality and timely documentation
Adhere to established safety policies, procedures, and precautions
Demonstrate understanding of procedures, policies, and documentation required to comply with standards of care
Education Master's Degree in Nursing required
Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse (RN) – State License
Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – State License
Experience Experience as a nurse practitioner; 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings
Ability to maintain quality control standards
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
