Clinical Psychologist - Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service

We are seeking a full-time clinical psychologist to join our Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service at our One Park Ave location. The Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service includes specialty programs in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), Tics, Tourette's, and Trichotillomania (T3 program), and intensive treatments for anxiety disorders. This role requires proficiency in cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent management training, and diagnostic evaluation of anxiety, mood, and related disorders. The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation. Ideal candidates are energetic clinicians with a commitment to clinical and academic excellence and an aptitude and enthusiasm for outpatient practice.
The ideal candidate would be able to contribute to the continued growth of the Anxiety and Mood Disorders service through both supporting existing programming and introducing new or innovative approaches to treating anxiety, mood, and related disorders in youth. Our client population spans the full pediatric age range; therefore, comfort in working with children as young as five, as well as teens and young adults, is essential. A willingness to learn new skills to become proficient in the specialty programs within the service is required.
Work Schedule
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry supports a hybrid work arrangement. This position includes dedicated onsite space at our Manhattan office, with a structured onsite/remote schedule determined by clinical needs and space availability.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and provide timely written documentation
Deliver evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, adults and their families
Maintain timely and accurate completion of medical records
Offer evening hours as needed to ensure access to appropriate clinical care
Fulfill on-call and coverage responsibilities
Provide teaching and supervision of psychology, psychiatry, and social work trainees assigned by the Clinical Director of the Child Study Center
Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to individualized treatment planning
Participate in continuing education, including weekly Case Conferences and Grand Rounds.
Participate in 2-3 direct activities that support our department's mission to disseminate evidence-based information, including providing Child Study Center parent workshops, writing for the website, speaking on DoctorRadio and/or equivalent annually
Participate in research activities when appropriate
Adhere to the code of ethics of your professional organization and the medical center

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications
NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a full-time junior faculty role is $114,420 to $116,792. Candidates who qualify for higher faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
In addition to the annual salary listed, psychologists are typically eligible for
supplemental compensation ranging from $31,300 to $80,000 in the first year of practice .
