Job Description
This position performs routine and special procedures to obtain data or prepare products for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The technologist works in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring quality patient care.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Certification required: MT‑STATE, MT‑AAB, MT‑AMT, CLSP, IMLS, BB‑ASCP, C‑ASCP, H‑ASCP, MLS‑ASCP, MT‑ASCP, MB‑ASCP, MP‑ASCP or MT‑NCA
Responsibilities
Determine suitability of specimens, verify patient data, and troubleshoot orders.
Perform routine and special procedures accurately, evaluate results, and solve problems in a timely manner.
Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and quarantine or discard unsuitable supplies.
Document quality control results, document defective reagents, and participate in training other personnel.
Act as “in‑charge” technologist in the supervisor’s absence, prioritize workflow, make decisions according to department guidelines, and document problems for review.
