The MRI Technologist performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of MRI images; responsible for the quality of patient care and daily maintenance and quality control performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine to complex magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of a licensed independent practitioner.
Level 2 MR Personnel trained in broader MR safety issues, including RF‑related thermal loading or burns and direct neuromuscular excitation from rapidly changing gradients.
Reviews diagnostic imaging physician orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols. Questionable orders are reviewed by a Radiologist.
Communicates equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor/lead.
Educates patients and families regarding the exam and answers questions as appropriate.
Performs quality assurance, visual preventative safety inspections, and reports dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Demonstrates understanding of human cross‑sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Ensures physician order and patient clinical history information are documented and available for the Radiologist.
Reviews patient history and screening questions/answers to ensure the patient is safe to have the exam.

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education:
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program or MRI Program.
Preferred Education:
N/A
Experience:
Previous MRI experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicants must have ARRT‑MRI or ARMRIT certification or ARRT registered, and MRI certified within two years of employment.
Must be BLS certified.
