What You Will Do
Receives consultation requests, checks for special instructions, consults with Radiologists as needed. Pleasantly greets patients, confirms their identification, and introduces self.
Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for patients. Prepares patients for MRI, explains procedures, transfers patients to the table, positions patients, and assists patients at the end of procedures.
Prepares contrast media for administration. Selects and operates equipment as directed.
Follows prescribed techniques in administering MRI studies. Adjusts equipment and selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
Observes patient and machine during procedures, reports unusual occurrences, and records patient condition as indicated.
Ensures proper paperwork and charges are completed for procedures. Reports equipment malfunctions and maintains a log for downtime. Follows MRI safety precautions.
Adapts care for patients of various ages (adult, geriatric, and, on occasion, adolescents, children, infants, and neonates).
Transfers and positions patients using appropriate methods and equipment; assists with emergency cases on a rotational basis.
Teaches clinical affiliated students and may work in the front office/file room as needed.
Performs office procedures in the absence of clerical personnel and handles clerical functions when not performing technical procedures.
Cleans and disinfects MRI room and equipment; maintains stock for the assigned area.
Participates in department performance improvement activities and required training; demonstrates service excellence and ACE values.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
Graduate of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school.
ARRT(R)(MR) certification is required.
ODH license is required if energizing any x-ray unit.
Current CPR certification with bi-annual renewal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with management, physicians, coworkers and patients.
Use proper body mechanics and assist with patient transfers from carts, wheelchairs, or other devices.
Ability to read and write small letters and numbers; maintain neat and orderly files and records.
Commitment to safety, OSHA/CDC guidelines, PPE usage, and confidentiality.
Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
