Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled MRI Tech for a 13-week travel assignment in San Antonio, Texas. The MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce high-quality images used in medical diagnosis. You will interact directly with patients, administer intravenous injections of contrast dye as needed, and collaborate with healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnostic results. This role involves maintaining equipment, following safety protocols, and delivering patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
Base pay range This range is provided by Fusion Medical Staffing. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications prior to procedure, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
Educate patients on MRI procedure and answer questions
Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot MRI equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any malfunctions
Start IVs and administer contrast media per orders and protocol, monitoring patients for adverse reactions
Monitor image quality during procedures and adjust scanning parameters for optimal results
Document all procedure details, including imaging parameters and patient observations
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging and timely delivery of results
Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with infection control and hospital policies
Follow hospital safety rules, infection control, and radiation safety protocols
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of an MRI Technologist
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of a Radiology program with specialization and training in MRI
One year’s experience as an MRI Tech
Valid Radiology/MRI license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
Current ARRT or equivalent certification
Current ARMRIT or equivalent certification
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend
Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personnel with professionalism
Technical/motor skills for manipulating equipment and assisting procedures
Mental requirements: ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and attention to detail
Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
