Overview
Clinical Nurse III - Hematology (4 East) - Full-Time, Nights at City of Hope. This role is on the Hematology unit, providing care to patients with hematologic malignancies and those undergoing CAR T therapy and clinical trials. Night shifts start at 7:00 PM. Eligible for a shift differential (nights) up to $6.50/hr and weekend differential up to $15.60/hr. Up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus available. Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with hematologic malignancies, including physical exams, review of medical history, and monitoring of symptoms such as fatigue, bruising, and bleeding. Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and response to treatment to detect changes in patient status. Chemotherapy Administration: Administer chemotherapy and other systemic treatments per established protocols, ensure accurate dosing, monitor for side effects, and provide supportive care to minimize complications. Symptom Management: Assess and manage symptoms related to hematologic malignancies and treatments (pain, nausea, anemia, neutropenia); administer medications, provide comfort measures, and educate patients on self-care techniques. Patient Education: Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, medication adherence, and access to support services such as counseling, nutrition therapy, and financial assistance. Care Coordination: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate appointments, diagnostics, and consultations to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Nursing is required Current California RN license Minimum of three (3) years related experience Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association Preferred experience in Oncology, Hematology, Intensive Care (ICU), or Step Down (SDU) Compensation and Benefits
