Position Highlights:

The mission of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to provide quality images and treatments to patients in a compassionate and efficient manner. Under the broad direction of the Radiologist, CT Supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging Manager and the Administrator of Diagnostic Imaging, the CT Technologist shall perform procedures on selected anatomy as requested by the clinician on patients based on age appropriateness criteria. The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question. Must be able to work scheduled weekdays, weekends and on-call hours as scheduled, if applicable. The Ideal Candidate: One to two years of CT experience in a hospital setting. Advanced CT Training or experience Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) Basic computer skills Responsibilities

Must maintain working knowledge of all CT scanners in the Radiology Department. Demonstrate knowledge of radiologic principles and imaging techniques as they apply to daily CT operations. Maintain knowledge of CT equipment and its operation. Understand growth and development principles and perform CT procedures based on age-related needs. Complete required calibration and follow Quality Assurance guidelines for CT equipment. Adhere to radiation safety policies to protect patients and staff. Provide for personal and patient safety following written standards and use professional judgment when necessary. Use protective radiation techniques and safety principles for monitoring devices, positioning, and protocols. Practice universal precautions, isolation technique, and aseptic methods. Identify and solve problems; take initiative to complete tasks and request assistance when needed. Exercise discretion and confidentiality in discussions related to patients, staffing, and related matters (HIPAA). Document all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service, including consent, injection documentation, release forms, progress notes and history forms. Credentials and Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED ARRT (R) or ARRT (T) – ARRT certification required; CT Advanced Certification within 18 months of hire RT Florida License Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) BLS certification Competency in Radiology and/or CT, patient positioning, and radiation protection; must be able to start IVs and administer contrast per department protocols Basic knowledge of at least one of the following functions: 3D Reconstructions for all CTAs Liver volumes PE studies and other exams; equipment use and protocols Familiarity with various CT biopsy types Basic familiarity with invasive procedures Ability to perform basic imaging techniques in main department, OR, and IR settings Knowledge to assist radiologist with biopsy procedures, patient care, and image processing
