We are seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist on a part-time basis to provide computerized tomography (CT) services to patients as ordered by physicians, following established standards and practices under the direction of the radiologist. Mixed shift availability is needed for this opportunity.
Job Summary and Qualifications Part-Time CT Technologist
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing CT examinations and related tasks in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner, with competency in brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, and other specified studies. Maintain familiarity with CT equipment and related systems, and remain current with protocol changes through in-service study, courses, or seminars as recommended.
As a CT Technologist, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Select proper technical factors for study and perform diagnostic CT examinations accurately and compassionately
Operate the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system
Assist in the administration of contrast media and related procedures
Prepare, transfer and position patients, ensuring modesty and safety
Document pertinent clinical information prior to exams, obtain informed consent, and complete required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
Obtain high-quality CT images for interpretation
Maintain proficiency with software protocols and participate in ongoing education
Communicate effectively with patients and care teams, including radiologists
Check equipment operation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure supplies are stocked
Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care
Qualifications
Completion of a 24-month program in Radiologic Technology at an accredited, AMA-approved institution
ARRT (CT) certification (preferred)
Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and move patients/equipment as needed
Minimum of 1-3 years current/recent experience in diagnostic radiology, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting
