Overview The Electrical Preconstruction Estimator provides insight and guidance in working through electrical estimates, ensuring the entire scope of work is captured. He/she provides the team with insight on the most qualified electrical trade partners for each project.

What you bring to the team
5+ years’ estimating experience in medium to large projects and/or a bachelor’s degree (in engineering, construction management, and electrical construction and/or licensed journeyman electrician) and 2-5+ years of field project experience.
General knowledge of construction principles/electrical practices.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other programs.
Ability to use, or learn to use Timberline, On-Screen Take-Off, Accubid, Procore, ISQFT, Building Connected and other estimating software programs.
Technical understanding of electrical construction and knowledge of electrical design.
Knowledge of NECA and other construction standards depending on project type.
Responsibilities
Perform takeoffs, input takeoff data, submit RFIs, and review written proposals.
Clarify unclear scope items during takeoff; read/analyze specifications and drawings.
Prepare and manage Electrical Bid Analysis process – scopes of work for all electrical subcontracts.
Fully analyze/scope electrical trade partner and vendor bids.
Work with senior managers to analyze costs and progress to identify overrun or underrun opportunities.
Coordinate and provide information and documents to trade partners.
Identify and attract new electrical subs; develop and enhance relationships.
Evaluate pricing for material, labor, trade partners and equipment.
Maintain knowledge of trade partners in various regions.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and trade partners.
Assist Senior Estimator to coordinate and streamline bid process.
Perform research to produce accurate, complete and competitive pricing.
Verify proper and complete scopes; ensure consistency between bids; evaluate apparent low bidder; coordinate scope with other trade packages.
Represent Robins & Morton to trade partners by managing estimate/bid processes including solicitation of bids and constructability input.
Maintain and develop working knowledge of electrical codes and changes.
