Summary Seeking Senior Level Professional Engineers experienced in evaluating distress to existing buildings, structures, and building envelopes. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of investigative projects—including coordinating with clients, performing site visits, managing resources, writing reports, conducting analyses, reviewing building codes, and setting deadlines to ensure project deliverables are submitted in a professional and timely manner. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the US.

Role & Responsibilities

Primary lead on projects.

Coordinate with clients to schedule site visits and complete deliverables.

Manage project resources and set/meet deadlines to keep projects on schedule.

Produce project reports that synthesize data from onsite inspections, environmental factors, material properties, and performance analysis to determine the most likely cause and scope of distress and failures to buildings and components.

Perform site visits to collect field data on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

Review and interpret relevant building codes as necessary for issues pertaining to the scope of work.

Oversee the development of repair designs ensuring adequate coordination across disciplines (if requested).

Make independent decisions for projects, including selection of analysis and testing methods, repair materials, and identifying and selecting resources relevant to the project.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Active PE license required.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in forensic engineering preferred.

Proven ability to write comprehensive technical reports on inspection results.

Pay Range $140,000 – $275,000 USD per year (Remote)
