Responsibilities

Design solutions following vehicle requirements with direct engagement of internal and external customers. Follow industry standards to optimize packaging and retention strategies. Maintain the packaging of electrical components in a 3D environment and support regular design reviews with internal and external customers. Design, develop, and release vehicle harness assembly prints using EDS tools such as Mentor Graphics, Zuken E3, or similar. Support electrical system compatibility reviews and sign-off wire harness prints. Support overall electrical development, BOM creation, and harness/vehicle build. Support, and maintain the development of DFMEA, DVP and supporting documents. Act as a liaison with program team, CAE analysis group, suppliers, and assembly for all design responsible parts. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and document vehicle level electrical issues and root cause analysis by means of CAN tools, DVM, oscilloscope, or similar. Support test plans and perform analytical circuit functionality tests. Perform inspections on first article assemblies from suppliers for conformity to a released design. Education and Experience (required)

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Technical Engineering degree. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Vehicle Electrical Engineering development. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required)

Electrical design experience and implementation using industry standards. Ability to read, understand, and create electrical schematics and good understanding of electrical and electronics basics. Operate an oscilloscope, DVM, and other test equipment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write concise technical reports. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred)

Proficient knowledge in EDS standards (SAE J1292, IPC-A-620, USCAR 21). Knowledge and experience using Mentor Graphics, Zuken E3, or AutoCAD. Experience using CAN tool for module configuration, flashing, DBC file creation, reading DTC’s, and logging vehicle data. Knowledge for supporting topology block diagrams, circuit fusing and grounding, harness partitioning, DFMEA, and DVP. Seniority level
