Seeking candidate to fulfill an opening as a Vehicle Operations Engineering (VME) Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Static/Dynamic Sealing and Water Test Engineer. Selected candidate will be responsible for driving Static/Dynamic Sealing, Joining and Water Test design and manufacturing strategies on current and future model programs. Responsibilities .
What you'll do. Provide VME FAE sealing/joining and water testing leadership as the “Go-To Person”. Involvement with new model program advanced planning teams to drive design for manufacturing / design for assembly principles to support best in class static sealing and joining to reduce water intrusion in our vehicles. Provide consultation/coaching to program engineers at the pre-launch and launch phases of their programs. Champion and Develop strategy for future modernization and continuous improvement of assembly plant water test procedures. Provide technical guidance with respect to water testing. Benchmarking of best practices and processes (internal and external). Development of new technologies and Bill of Process for water test process/equipment in Final Assembly Provide expertise in Product Design, Process Design and Component manufacturing related to sealing, joining and water testing. Respond to assembly plant and FAE program team requests for consultation for methods to improve their processes and assure a high level of process capability. Provide input on corrective and preventative actions for water leak design guides to prevent recurrence of issues to core teams. Qualifications You'll have... An Engineering Bachelor's degree in a related area (Mech. Eng., Elec. Eng., Manuf. Eng.) or similar discipline. or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in exterior ornamentation/static sealing/dynamic sealing. Experience in all program phases from PS to Launch. Three major programs (UP / UN > 4) or discipline equivalent. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and experience in Dynamic Sealing / Static Sealing / Joining / Water Testing.(3+ years) Even better, you may have… Masters Degree in Engineering Strong evidence of a commitment to technical growth through formal and continuing education. Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge and experience in Dynamic Sealing / Static Sealing / Joining / Water Testing. Demonstrated capability in applicable skills with a record of delivery at program level Recognized as having technical expertise in automation equipment Demonstrated capability and willingness to teach/coach/mentor others Strong interpersonal skills, strong presentation and writing skills, an ability to work in a team environment, a demonstrated ability to serve as a mentor and a willingness to assume a leadership position in the organization Registered Professional Engineer is Preferred Engineering Master’s Degree in a related area (Mech. Eng., Elec. Eng., Manuf. Eng.) or similar discipline is Preferred.
