Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with specialized expertise in power generation or combined cycle plant operations to join our team. This full‑time position requires a minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience with turbines and power plant equipment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing power generation systems to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and components for power generation, with a focus on turbines, boilers, and combined cycle plant equipment. Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to support system upgrades and troubleshooting. Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of power plant equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and operations staff, to improve plant performance and efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, maintenance schedules, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and plant staff. Support project planning, budgeting, and execution for power plant upgrades or new installations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 8 years of experience in power generation or combined cycle plant operations, with expertise in turbines and related equipment. Strong knowledge of thermodynamic principles, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as applied to power generation systems. Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB). Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ANSI. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross‑functional teams and presenting technical information. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Skills
Experience with gas and steam turbine maintenance, repair, and optimization. Knowledge of combined cycle power plant operations and efficiency improvements.
