Rigger I
in San Diego, CA. Job Summary: Provide rigging and periodic weight testing certification services to include in-shop components and onboard weight handling systems. Provide shipboard equipment and component rigging services, including ships’ force and assist work center requests. Duties And Responsibilities
Provides guidance with U.S. Navy vessel weight handling systems and components. Conduct ship-checks to assist in determining scope of work, and correct material selection in accordance with applicable NAVSEA drawings and other technical reference documents. Utilizes the following shop equipment to accomplish the requirements of this task: 200K pull-test machine, 10K CAT 3 non-cab overhead crane, hydraulic swaging machine, hydraulic cable cutter, zinc melting pot, various size chain hoists, beam clamps, dynamometer, various rigging equipment, and portable electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools. Determines the correct rigging routes and rigging equipment for each rigging project. Inspects rigging equipment for safe operation prior to use. Performs post installation inspection of rigging equipment and turns damaged rigging equipment to the rigging equipment custodian for disposition. Checks completed work with supervisor, government lead or quality control personnel to insure it meets required standards and specifications. Follows or refers to work packages, specifications, drawings and manufacturers technical guidance. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years’ experience performing rigging operations on Navy ships Possess formal rigging training qualifications/certifications Ability to obtain and maintain base access Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $20.77 - $32.29 Hourly. ADA Notations
Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms, stooping, kneeling, and crouching Regular communication (hearing/speaking) Ability to lift heavy objects (over 50 lbs) Ability to work in a shipboard environment Ability to climb ladders and stairs Ability to work in varying work conditions including extreme climates Ability to be medically certified to wear a respirator if required Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
