Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale steel erection projects nationwide. This position plays a critical role in developing engineered bracing, lifting, and sequencing plans that ensure safety, stability, and efficiency in the field. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of structural steel behavior and a collaborative mindset that bridges engineering with field operations.
Responsibilities
Perform structural analyses and stability evaluations for steel erection projects
Design and review engineered bracing systems, lifting devices, and crane pick plans
Develop sequencing strategies to ensure safe and efficient erection methods
Collaborate with project management and field teams to solve complex engineering challenges
Utilize CAD and modeling software to create detailed drawings and sequencing visuals
Conduct occasional site visits to assess conditions and communicate design intent
Provide technical guidance to internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
Requirements
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin or Minnesota
Minimum 6 years of experience in structural engineering; steel erection experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in Tekla or similar design/modeling software; Bluebeam and Microsoft Office proficiency required
Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection practices, and field coordination
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites (typically short trips)
