Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Material Qualification Engineer

to support the evaluation and qualification of new materials introduced by the Sourcing Team. The role is critical to ensuring all incoming materials meet technical, quality, and process requirements before being introduced into the production environment. The engineer will be responsible for developing and executing qualification plans, performing material testing and analysis, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D. Job Duties

Material evaluation and testing: Design and execute comprehensive test planes to evaluate new materials’ mechanical, thermal, electrical and optical properties. Perform root cause analysis and material failure analysis if there is any. Qualification and documentation: Help to provide the detailed qualification reports, test data and validation documentations. Ensure material meets internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and production standards. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with sourcing, RD, quality and manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and support design-for-manufacturing goals. Supplier engagement: communicate technical requirements and performance expectations to material suppliers. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Optoelectronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 2+ years of experience in material characterization, material qualification, or process engineering in a manufacturing or product development environment. Strong knowledge of material testing methods (e.g., tensile, thermal, aging, corrosion, microscopy, etc.). Hands-on experience with lab instruments and data analysis tools. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, or industry-specific material standards is a plus. Location
