The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company As a Production Manager, you lead the daily operations of the tire manufacturing facility with a sharp focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. You bring deep expertise in rubber processing and tire production technologies, and you apply lean manufacturing principles to meet customer demands while driving continuous improvement across the plant. Key Responsibilities You plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations. You supervise and coordinate production staff across shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You enforce strict adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. You monitor key production metrics such as OEE, downtime, and scrap rate, and lead initiatives to improve performance. You collaborate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and optimize workflow. You maximize resource utilization—including manpower, machinery, materials, and operating supplies—to boost productivity. You lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production-related problems. You champion lean manufacturing and World Class Operations (WPO) practices throughout the plant. You train and mentor production team members to enhance their skills and drive performance. You prepare and present detailed production reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations. Skills & Competencies 20+ years in tire manufacturing or rubber processing, with proven leadership in mid to large-scale production operations You have strong knowledge of tire building machines, curing presses, extrusion systems, and mixing lines. You are proficient in ERP systems and production planning tools. You demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. You have experience managing union negotiations and handling industrial relations (IR) situations. You hold certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing (preferred). You are familiar with ISO/TS 16949 and other quality management systems. Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
