We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager

to lead and oversee our CMT operations. The ideal candidate will manage field and laboratory testing services, ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, support business development efforts, and mentor a team of technicians and engineers.

The successful candidate should be experienced with civil construction practices and relevant testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations of the CMT department, including field and laboratory testing

Supervise, mentor, and train technicians, inspectors, and junior engineers

Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT, ACI, and other applicable standards

Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and project coordination

Review and approve reports, test results, and documentation for accuracy and quality

Maintain certifications for laboratory and field operations (e.g., AASHTO, CCRL, FDOT)

Support business development through proposal preparation, client meetings, and relationship building

Work closely with project managers, contractors, and design professionals to resolve technical issues

Monitor financial performance of the department, including budgets, billing, and forecasting

Promote and enforce health and safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

7+ years of progressive experience in construction materials testing and inspection, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and FDOT testing procedures

FDOT and/or CTQP certifications

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
