Job Description

Design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. The design includes creating system wiring diagrams using Capital Harness System and other CAD tools, as well as circuit breaker panels, control panels and related items. Responsibilities include research, systems integration, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Lead and mentor a team of 2 to 5 entry-level design engineers for the duration of an assigned project. Projects may include Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Sensor Systems, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, load shedding schemes, and support for testing and integration on aircraft. Electrical design engineers will work on a variety of tasks and aircraft systems across platforms. Essential Functions

Create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD tools, such as Capital Harness or NX. Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost Lead a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads. Train and mentor junior engineers Learn and become familiar with L3Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science or related technical degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong communication skills Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship Interpret SOW, requirements and Systems Definition Must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments (some positions will require the ability to board/exit aircraft) Willingness to travel or relocate, if necessary Preferred Additional Skills

Previous experience in the defense aerospace industry Knowledge of CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter Knowledge of Siemens Capital software Understanding of basic aircraft systems Systems integration experience Leadership experience Experience with Bombardier Global aircraft Active secret security clearance or higher Equal Opportunity
