Overview
Westinghouse is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer focused on Balance of Plant (BOP) Layout. The position is hybrid, typically requiring 3 days per week on-site at the Westinghouse office in Rock Hill, SC. Relocation assistance is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of non-nuclear and large-scale nuclear projects.
Develop mechanical fluid system piping layout, resolve routing interferences, and reduce potential physical layout conflicts.
Coordinate technical details with functional areas for plant design and parameters.
Interface with engineers in different departments and global locations to support design, fabrication, and construction organizations, responding to RFIs, identifying design changes, and addressing deviations.
Assess physical arrangement of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using multi-dimensional E3D design software.
Author, review, and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D models and plant designs working with WNEXUS.
Prepare technical reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and contract requirements.
Qualifications
BS Mechanical Engineering Required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
0-3 years’ experience; 2023-2025 graduate mechanical engineers are encouraged to apply.
Understanding of 3D modeling software; previous use of E3D software; REVIT experience for small projects.
Visual and spatial design skills.
Leadership and program management skills.
