Industrial Engineer Co-op will work on-site with all functions of the manufacturing team to improve productivity and process maturity. The role will offer opportunities to lead cost saving initiatives throughout the site and to have a true impact on the financial success of the team. Activities can include kaizen events, time studies, digital solutions, and layout/flow optimization.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
Support manufacturing processes including: equipment, floor layouts, work sequence, work instructions, procedures, and work flow.
Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems.
Review products/processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks and work with design to incorporate changes to eliminate the risks
Design and 3D print fixtures and tooling to aid in process improvement.
Independently resolve problems that are difficult and often complex.
Develop tactical plans to manage day-to-day challenges

Gain proficiency in methodologies for continuous improvement, focusing on waste reduction, efficiency enhancement, and driving overall process improvements.

Acquire the ability to adapt to changing environments and integrate industry trends and innovations to maintain competitiveness.
Learn to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and inspire team members to achieve collective objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
