Overview We are seeking a controls engineering candidate to work with a team in developing, supporting, testing, and managing application firmware, which is used to control and monitor complex HVAC products, over its entire life cycle. This candidate will have a deep knowledge of controls application and its abilities and will provide technical expertise to define and document requirements, test, troubleshoot, and support embedded firmware application developers. This candidate will work directly with our sales and engineering teams to create detailed, controls specific firmware requirements, track and verify the resulting application developed meets the intention of those requirements, and document and coordinate production releases for standard and customer specific applications and configurations.
Responsibilities
Technical writing including sequence of operations, codable requirements, test plans, test cases, release documentation, user guides, service guides
Bench testing application, monitoring, and GUI changes made by the developers
React positively to problems and give guidelines for software and hardware changes as needed
Support product lab testing, customer witness testing, and production end of line testing
Support field service questions
Answer questions from Sales and Engineering around how the application currently operates and what it is capable of
Work as part of a team in a global, multicultural environment
Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems
Comply with the company safety procedures. Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence
Provide timely and detailed status updates
Ensure high quality standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process driven environment
Other tasks and activities as required by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
HVAC or Chiller specific controls experience is required
5+ years of experience with embedded controls firmware development and testing
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Required to work in the office, not a work from home position.
