Job Description
Position: VMware Automation Systems Engineer Duration: Contract Location: JACKSON, MI The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience managing and maintaining Enterprise VMware environments, with strong knowledge of VMware ESX 5.x and 6.x. A VMware Certification (VCP) is a plus. Key Requirements: 4+ years of experience with IT Automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or other similar tools In-depth knowledge of VMware vRealize Automation 6.x and vRealize Orchestrator 6.x Strong knowledge of VMware vRealize Operations Management 6 Experience with setup of custom build profiles, integration of Puppet with VRA, and setup of new workflows Strong scripting skills, with experience in Power CLI or PowerShell Scripting Knowledge of VMware SRM or other DR solutions for Virtual Infrastructure Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team Key Areas of Responsibility: Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure availability of services and infrastructure Install, configure, and manage highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure Provide planning, installation, configuration, and upgrading support for vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator Establish and maintain service levels, perform basic troubleshooting, and monitor vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator Manage the health of the vRealize IaaS environment and perform upgrades and maintenance as outlined by the service contract Participate in Enterprise testing for integration of proposed new technologies Develop and keep up to date internal documentation for key systems and services Participate in scalability and growth decisions Assist the Development team’s efforts in troubleshooting complex issues
