Description Standing watch in the SURTASS Operations Center (SOC) onboard SURTASS vessels to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SURTASS mission equipment, supporting Fleet requirements, including maintaining all required records and logs and monitoring and sending record Naval Message Traffic.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all SURTASS mission equipment in accordance with the PMS and other reference documents.

Utilize the WILD trouble ticket application to log all maintenance trouble tickets for action in the JSN/WKRQ log, including all applicable labor, external technical assistance, parts, and time expended.

Maintain an accurate logistics inventory as provided by the Government, and provide periodic updates to the Product Support Facility (PSF).

Operate the shipboard test equipment pool used with SURTASS mission equipment, ensuring calibration through coordination with the PSF.

Maintain a technical library on each ship to support all SURTASS mission equipment.

Requirements

Requires an associate's degree in computer science, electronics technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics "C" school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system.

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 months.

Desired Skills

Five (5) years of practical hands-on experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VME computers, networks, digital computers, microprocessors, communications systems, navigation systems, and/or sonar systems.

Experience with SURTASS mission systems is preferred.

Clearance Information SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL

Travel Requirements

Requires travel/underway maintenance support periods for up to 90 days at a time.
