This role involves preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and studies for utility, renewable, and industrial power projects. The engineer will support planning, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory codes. Key Responsibilities

Transmission & Distribution (T&D): design for overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines (4kV–500kV). Conduct load flow, short-circuit, grounding, and protection coordination studies. Develop construction packages, plan/profile drawings, and conductor/cable sizing. Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and utility standards. Substation Design: design physical layouts, general arrangements, grounding, lighting, and raceway systems. Develop protection & control (P&C) one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Specify major equipment including transformers, breakers, switches, relays, and SCADA systems. Support greenfield and brownfield projects, including retrofits and upgrades. Project & Construction Support: prepare technical specifications, bills of material, and procurement documents. Provide engineering support during bidding, construction, testing, and commissioning. Collaborate with project managers, drafters, and field teams to resolve design and site issues. Conduct site visits, inspections, and as-built documentation. Compliance & Safety: ensure designs follow applicable codes and standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, OSHA). Perform system protection and arc-flash studies to enhance reliability and safety. Contribute to utility interconnection studies and regulatory filings. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred. 5+ years of experience in electrical utility, EPC, or consulting engineering (transmission, distribution, or substation). Proficiency in engineering software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, ETAP, CYME, or similar. Strong knowledge of protection relays, SCADA, and control systems.
