Assisstant City Engineer

City of Watertown The City of Watertown has an immediate opening within the Engineering Department. The Assistant City Engineer is a senior level of the Engineering series. This position reports directly to the City Engineer and requires oversight of the Citys Engineering staff, including design and construction for all City utility infrastructure projects. Supervision is exercised over subordinate engineering department personnel. This position differs from that of Civil Engineer II by virtue of its expanded scope and level of responsibility. Responsibilities
Provide oversight of the Citys Engineering staff and lead design and construction for all City utility infrastructure projects. Supervise subordinate engineering department personnel. Report to the City Engineer and manage the expanded scope of responsibilities within the Engineering department. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university (or an institution accredited by the NYS Board of Regents to grant degrees). 4 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License. Must possess or achieve NYS Professional Engineering license within 24 months of employment. Must maintain PE license for permanent appointment and continued employment. Employment details
