Job Description
Mazak Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician to install equipment, train customers, perform warranty repairs, and provide after-warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. This role involves regional responsibilities, working primarily from home, with duties including overnight travel to customer facilities mainly in the Houston, TX area. The position reports to the Southwest Technology Center in Houston, TX. Scope and Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Installing machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues on machines and accessories. Testing machine operation post-installation or repair. Training customers on machine functions. Learning new machine features and accessories as they become available. Completing reports on installation, problem assessment, repairs, and parts used. Traveling as required, including overnight or multiple-night stays. Utilizing testing equipment such as indicators, test bars, clamp force gauges, etc., for troubleshooting. Education and Certification
Two-year technical training in electronics, mechanical systems, or machine tool assembly. High School Diploma or equivalent. Skills and Experience
3-7 years of experience in Field Service. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Capability to work independently or in a team. Understanding of PLCs. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits. General computer skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and heavier weights periodically. Problem-solving skills tailored to situations.
