Northrop Grumman Defense System’s (NGDS) is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Level 4 to support the AARGM-ER, SiAW, and future programs in Northridge California. The AME will launch innovative defense platforms from a manufacturing vantage point, guiding products from concept through start of production with focus on manufacturability, yield, and cost targets. This role collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, IPT Lead, Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Operations to ensure producibility and cost targets are achieved. The position requires on-site work with no hybrid/remote option. Responsibilities

Support Legacy, AARGM-ER, SiAW, and future programs. Lead methods and techniques used to build products with a focus on mistake-proof processes balanced to takt time; ensure processes meet design intent. Support Test Engineering, Mission Assurance, and Metrology in selecting and implementing test equipment and measurement devices. Develop standard times; define and, as required, design equipment, tooling, and processes to facilitate assembly. Participate in Make/Buy decisions, maintain MBOMs, and develop routings and work instructions for products in Costpoint ERP, Solumina MES, and Teamcenter. Provide training and guidance to assemblers, inspectors, and technicians. Participate in NC dispositions and Corrective Actions; apply 5-Why, 8D, and other root-cause analysis; respect 5-day max cycle time. Resolve assembly issues with emphasis on PFMEA; provide DFM/DFA analysis. Support continuous improvement activities and kaizen implementations; develop process maps. Participate in PMRs and CCBs; support yield improvement initiatives; deliver PMR presentations to customers (USAF, USN). Support production teams to ensure on-time deliveries; travel as required to support mission success. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with 8 years of manufacturing experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years. Experience with ERP/MES/ePLM; work scheduling and execution of engineering activities. Experience with GD&T and detail/assembly best practices. Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in defense or aerospace. Strong tool design experience; excellent communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with government and internal teams. Current US Government Secret security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles; project management experience is a plus. Experience with ERP/MES; PWB fabrication and CCA assembly process experience. Injection molding, additive manufacturing understanding, and test planning/verification. Creo, MCAD, Solumina MES, Costpoint ERP; experience with Agile and EVMS; yield improvement projects; Lean Six Sigma certification. Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00. The salary range is a general guideline and depends on factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply; long-term incentives may be available for VP/Director-level roles.
