Maintenance Technician B (II) Transdev in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced B-Level Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you will contribute to safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet. Benefits
Non-CBA Position Competitive compensation: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour Vacation: up to 2 weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 8 standard and 2 floating 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability Company-paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement Benefits may vary by location; standard corporate policy applies Key Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components to ensure optimal functionality Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on diesel engines, including overhauls and rebuilds Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians Other duties as required Qualifications
ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided Mechanic’s Tool Set Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules, including weekends Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs Physical Requirements
The essential functions require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperatures and conditions (100% of the job outdoors) Sit for extended periods; stand and walk long distances on uneven surfaces Push/pull up to 50 pounds; lift up to 50 pounds; kneel, bend, or crouch as needed Work in high-traffic areas with exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
