Job Description Summary
Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Makes recommendations for technology investments.
Position Responsibilities
Lead the hardware supplier design team in supporting all Tactical Fighters program needs
Out brief status to internal Boeing stakeholders/leadership and external customers
Support subsystem testing on the Mission Systems Hardware
Support system testing in system integration laboratories
Support Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis efforts for the Mission Systems Hardware
Support airworthiness efforts for hardware design, development and implementation
Experience in full development cycle – requirements development, avionics hardware design & integration, subsystem/system/flight test, system verification, & production/fielding
Technical problem investigation and resolution experience at subsystem, system, and platform integration level
Tactical subsystem and platform integration knowledge
Experience developing platform/subsystem Interface Control Documents, Supplier Statement of Works, and technical platform/subsystem specifications and requirements
Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, functional diagrams
Knowledge of Configuration, Change, and Risk Management Processes for Tactical Fighters programs
Knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly design, fabrication, and verification
Knowledge of avionics box interfaces – MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, Serial buses (i.e. RS-170, RS-422 or RS-232), hardware discrete, fiber/ethernet
Knowledge of Military Standards/Handbook implementations – MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, etc.
Knowledge of avionics quality inspection and acceptance processes
Platform and Supplier data requirements development, review, and delivery
Experience in new Air to Air and Air to Ground weapon capability implementation
Experience in integrating new Air to Air and Air to Ground weapons onto a fighters platform
Weapon interface and Nuclear Certification knowledge
Knowledge of Air to Air engagements – kinematics and employment, guidance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Master’s degree OR 4+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in new Air-to-Air & Air-to-Ground weapon capability implementation and troubleshooting
Experience in integrating new Air-to-Air & Air-to-Ground weapons onto a tactical fighters platform
Knowledge of avionics box interfaces MIL-STD-1760, Universal Armament Interface, Common Flexible Weapon Interface
Weapon interface and Nuclear Certification knowledge
Knowledge of Air-to-Air engagements – kinematics and employment, guidance
Experience with Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis
