Key Functions

Calculate core size, cross-sectional area, and shape based on power rating and flux density.

Compute the number of turns on primary and secondary windings, wire gauge, copper areas, and insulation thickness.

Determine voltage per turn and turns ratio for specified input and output voltages.

Simulate heat dissipation, temperature rise, and cooling system design (oil-immersed, air-cooled, forced air).

Analyze losses leading to heat generation including copper losses, hysteresis, and eddy currents.

Perform magnetic field and flux simulations using FEA or BEM.

Calculate leakage inductances, mutual inductances, and parasitic capacitances.

Analyze partial discharge, corona effects, and dielectric strength of insulation.

Quantify core losses (hysteresis, eddy currents) and copper losses and optimize design for minimal losses.

Analyze mechanical stresses due to short circuits, thermal expansion, and vibrations.

Ensure structural integrity and proper cooling through mechanical design consideration.

Ensure transformer design meets IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards for safety and performance.

Simulate fault conditions, overcurrent protection, and transient responses.
