Position Summary Value Stream Manager

– Lead overall operation of a value stream at Parker Hannifin. Implements the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventory and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversees day‑to‑day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly expectations.

Scope / Supervision and Interaction Direct reporting structure:

Has Direct Reports

– responsible for developing and managing Team Leaders and associates, budgets, employment decisions, and performance assessments.

Does Not Have Direct Reports

– responsible for all aspects of managing the Value Stream, including developing associates, ensuring decisions are rapidly implemented, budget planning, and performance assessment of all direct reports.

Essential Functions

Ownership of Value Stream P&L’s including cost analysis and opportunities, product line margin, PPV goals and manufacturing productivity.

Responsible for POP implementation and long‑term manufacturing strategies.

Operational leadership with successful Lean implementation resulting in productivity gains.

Meet regularly with Value Stream Leaders to reflect on problems, solutions and challenges, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Lead daily operations and continuous improvements, including supply chain production control and manufacturing priorities.

Establish continuous product flow, utilize pull systems, and level the workload.

Ensure standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and safety requirements met.

Maintain positive team atmosphere, hold regular meetings, assign tasks and coordinate needed support.

Provide effective cross‑training for Value Stream Associates, ensuring continuous smooth running.

Collaborate with Division Staff to develop future state value stream map and manage plans to achieve it, maintaining the Team Improvement Boards and Site Tracking Center.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher (required).

3+ years of major professional accomplishments with increasing responsibility and leadership of complex projects or teams.

Experience in accounting, manufacturing, human resources, inventory control, or strategic planning.

Demonstrated teamwork and ability to develop individual and team skills, promoting new ideas and positive change.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Lead a team in LEAN process improvements/implementation preferred.

Physical Demands Walk, talk, or hear; stand, sit, reach with both hands and arms. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; normal weight to lift is between 0 and 15 pounds.
