Job Description As System Engineer, you are responsible for requirements development, system architecture, leading the safety plan and enabling the project team through all phases of system and safety engineering (requirements elicitation, item definitions, hazard analysis and risk assessment, functional safety concept, technical safety concept, item integration, safety validation). You collaborate with the design team to develop, implement and validate effective solutions. You will be customer interface concerning system development.
Key Responsibilities
Definition, maintenance and release of project-specific restraint system architecture.
Develop technical requirements and agree them with the customer.
Import/exchange Customer requirements documents
Project-specific requirements management.
Define technical solution for system defects
Create product specification
Create System-FMEA
Present FTA and System FMEA to the customer
Planning and coordination of all safety activities at system level in the relevant phases of the life cycle (project-specific safety plan).
Coordinate the planning activities with the Project Manager
Hazard analysis and risk assessment of the product
Functional safety concept
Identification of project specific technical safety requirements on system level
Support of the verification and validation (project-specific V&V-Plan) from safety perspective
Conduct the project specific tailoring of the Fault Tree Analysis
Support the project specific FMEA from a safety perspective
Provide the safety case – project-specific safety verification according to the safety plan
Report the safety status to the management and raise safety issues
Present safety status to the customer and clarify safety issues with the customer
Support the safety assessor in planning and conducting the safety assessment
Coordinate safety activities with the project specific safety team
Recommend release of the safety case for the project (based on completeness and technical correctness).
Qualifications Basic qualifications
BS in Engineering/ Computer Science or Electrical
3 relevant work experience in Requirements management, System architecture and application of safety engineering and management, safety processes and safety standards in the automotive industry (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262)
3 years of experience in the automotive industry
2 years of technical experience with methods and tools for system and software development for Automotive ECUs
Preferred Qualifications
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, flexible, fast learner;
Self-motivated, able to work independently and integrate well into a Cross-functional and global team experience
Knowledge of Doors, ClearQuest, ALM, MS-Office, Modeling tools
Expert’s knowledge with regard to safety engineering, safety processes, safety analysis (e.g. FMEA, FTA) and safety standards
Detailed technical understanding with regard to the subject of safety and all related aspects
