Fire Protection Engineer - Miami, Florida Area
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to support the US Places Design & Engineering business area in the Miami, Florida area. You will work directly with other Fire Protection Engineers, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineers, Architects, and clients on a range of facility design projects, including Federal projects. You will lead the fire protection discipline of multiple and concurrent projects through the pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. Travel to project sites is required (approximately 1 week per month). Responsibilities
Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications with inter-disciplinary coordination. Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project and staffing plans, and identify, qualify, and pursue potential clients and project opportunities. Fluently use design and modeling software including Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks, and related tools. Design fire protection systems in facility types such as heavy industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and processing facilities (e.g., water and wastewater treatment sites, EV assembly plants, lithium-ion battery plants, and data centres). Conduct fire protection site surveys and data collection for studies, collaborating with client teams. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical or fire protection engineering with proven experience in a similar role. Fire Protection Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States is essential. Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities. Deep knowledge of life safety codes and industry standards, building codes, and safety standards (NFPA, NEC, NESC, UL, etc.). Advanced technical understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems, smoke control, and related technologies.
