Senior Procurement Engineer

will oversee all procurement activities (pre-PO and post-PO) for the Energy Systems Global Supply Chain Solutions (GSCS) team. The focus is on ensuring components are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet all quality requirements. You will be a key contributor responsible for AP1000 projects, working with cross-functional teams to build, execute, and report on project implementation plans, and leading activities to ensure readiness for pre- and post-PO phases, facilitating predictive delivery during execution. You will partner with GSCS teams to assist with project charters, benefits, and resource requirements. Responsibilities include monitoring active projects, updating statuses, resolving roadblocks, escalating issues, and communicating project changes. You will contribute to developing sourcing plans that minimize risks, generate savings, and ensure predictive delivery through project execution. The candidate will ideally have strong project management skills, with the ability to develop teams with procurement expertise (RFx, Supplier Relationship, Contract Management) and a technical background (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to purchase equipment and services. You will interface with internal customers—Business Unit, Engineering, Quality, and Sales—and external customers on Energy Systems contracts. Strong relationship skills are essential for providing clear, timely, and innovative solutions to organizational requests.

This is a US-only remote role. Travel may be required (10-20%). Your Day-to-Day: Sign off on safety-related requisitions as needed. Review and communicate safety-related requirements with suppliers. Support sourcing and procurement strategies with Offer and Project Teams, including demand identification, supplier outreach, and establishing communication channels. Assist Commercial Teams in executing sourcing strategies, including RFx process coordination, quotation solicitation, contract analysis, and negotiation of terms for complex materials and services. Analyze costs and develop strategies to maximize supplier value. Maintain relationships with key suppliers and resolve contract performance issues. Use the Approved Supplier List for sourcing requirements. Monitor supplier capacity, capabilities, and market constraints, keeping stakeholders informed. Understand supplier operational and commercial metrics, collaborating with SPE Organization. Ensure compliance with regulatory and Westinghouse procurement policies. Manage supply and commitments post-purchase, including change and contract management, and reflect changes in systems like SAP. Support Accounts Payables in resolving invoice discrepancies. Utilize Best-Cost Country Sourcing, especially in Europe. Who You Are: BA/BS degree in engineering. At least 4 years of relevant experience. Why Westinghouse?
