Purpose This position requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing with emphasis on mechanical and electro‑mechanical components and assemblies. The role involves manufacturing machining of large complex metallic components, electromechanical components and some CNC experience.
Job Duties
Review engineering drawings to assess manufacturability and develop manufacturing plans.
Create bills of material (BOM) and collaborate with manufacturing personnel to improve processes.
Troubleshoot assembly and machining problems and implement time‑saving measures while ensuring quality, integrity and certification.
Provide technical support to achieve customer quality standards and profit objectives.
Optimize manufacturing efficiency and quality standards through improved processes, materials, methods and facilities.
Support production to build products to specifications and engineering documents.
Prepare engineering changes to support manufacturing and quality of parts.
Design and deploy tooling to aid in production processes.
Ensure standardization and compliance to engineering, customer and company specifications for interior product production.
Perform engineering analyses and root‑cause corrective actions on parts and processes not in control.
Identify new equipment, tool designs and processes to improve consistency, accuracy and cycle times.
Interface directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads and management on a routine basis.
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and coordinate with suppliers and external resources for process improvement.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
7+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Experience with FSDA (full size determinant assembly) and machining/fabrication.
Digital Product Definition (DPD)/Model‑Based Definition (MBD) knowledge is a plus.
MRA Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA) knowledge/experience is a plus.
Ability to read and decipher blueprints, drawings, procedures, and GD&T.
Strong process management, process improvement, problem solving and cost reduction skills.
Excellent technical writing skills and fluency in English (reading and writing).
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and machine programming (NC machines).
Experience designing jigs and tooling for product assembly.
Knowledge of materials and metal processing, including heat treat and coatings for aerospace requirements.
Basic measurement and inspection process knowledge.
Experience with MIL‑STD documents and ASME Y14.5 interpretation.
Proficient in drafting engineering reports.
CAD experience in CATIA or Creo is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must meet export control compliance requirements (ITAR U.S. person).
