Responsibilities

Produce quality work to prescribed standards with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget.

Follow written work instructions.

Work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.

Perform more detailed tasks requiring deeper knowledge and experience in the specified processes and procedures as needed.

Plan and accomplish assigned goals using experience and judgment.

Communicate effectively with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality departments.

Resolve most questions and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher levels.

Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues.

Demonstrate initiative and good decision-making ability.

Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and proper handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS); use of required PPE.

May orient and train lower level employees and participate in LEAN/ Six Sigma activities as appropriate.

Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Responsibilities — Advanced Assembly

Perform advanced-level assembly functions including prep, mechanical, harness, cable, PCB sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection from models/drawings.

May perform soldering and installation of components to contract specifications using a wide range of tools and equipment.

Interpret blueprints, process flow instructions and other written or verbal instructions.

Maintain quality work to standards with focus on continuous improvement, on schedule and within budget, following SPC standard practices.

Train across all assembly stages and collaborate with Engineering to build first articles by interpreting prints/specifications with no process provided and interpret/assemble all units in the department.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a specialty area (e.g., welding, tool making).

Compensation and Additional Details The expected pay scale for this position is $23.50/hr - $31.50/hr. The pay scale may be modified during the hiring process based on level, location, scope of the position, federal contract wage rates, candidate experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
