Mechanical Engineers - Buildings, Facilities, + Site practices at AECOM, Tampa, FL. This is a senior engineering role within the Building & Places (B+P) organization, focusing on Buildings, Facilities, and Site practices. The position reports to the department manager and requires the ability to lead architecture and facility projects and mentor staff. AECOM supports continued education, training, and professional development. Responsibilities

Serve as Discipline Lead for the Mechanical Engineering team and manage direct reports at varying levels. Lead HVAC design for a variety of building project types including mid-to large-size architecture and facility projects. Organize workload, work independently on project-specific design tasks, and lead staff. Communicate with clients and explain technical solutions to project conditions. Participate in project meetings and coordinate with the Architect of Record. Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others. Provide technical input to studies and design, and support staff in their areas of expertise. Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget with project managers and senior team members. Use AutoCAD and REVIT for designs, engineering, and documentation. Use energy modeling software such as Trane Trace and IES. Mentor junior staff on design approaches, tools, standards, calculations, and related aspects. Provide direction on prescriptive and performance-based specifications. Contribute to development of technical proposals including engineering budget and schedule estimates. Review permitting agency and engineering standards and ensure proper design and permitting applications. Collaborate with other departments (civil, architecture, building engineering, geotechnical, traffic, landscape) to add value and pursue project opportunities. Support site investigations and construction-related activities. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work. Valid US Driver’s License; must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review. Position-specific requirements:

Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer IV:

BA/BS in Engineering + 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent; Florida PE license currently or ability to register for the PE exam within 6 months. Senior Level Mechanical Engineer V:

BA/BS in Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent; Florida PE license; experience as lead HVAC engineer for building projects; ability to lead mechanical building design and manage work and resources; client-facing experience; proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT; experience preparing calculations and design documents; experience delivering projects on schedule; experience with construction phase services and permitting. Preferred Qualifications

bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred). Experience in mechanical HVAC engineering covering all aspects of building mechanical and plumbing with demonstrated management responsibilities. Strong fundamentals and familiarity with new industry standards; ability to collaborate with senior project teams and organize work for project goals. Experience on large, complex projects/programs; municipal, federal, and DOD project experience is a plus. Additional Information
