Position Summary My client is seeking a Facilities Fire Protection Engineer responsible for supporting Design and Construction, as well as leading the Operations and Maintenance team to ensure that our Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), Fire Protection Systems (FPS), and Hazardous Gas Monitoring Systems (HGMS) are always operational and meet code. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to define, design, detail, and document systems that protect our facilities and employees, including developing testing and maintenance procedures to meet NFPA, AHJ, and insurance requirements. You must understand and interpret laws and regulations related to fire protection and be capable of maintaining and repairing fire protection systems. This role supports a new Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) factory/site in Peoria, AZ.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the schedule to ensure fire protection aspects of the construction project stay on track.
Ensure fire protection work complies with all regulations.
Establish maintenance plans, manage fire prevention systems, and conduct fire drills.
Support new manufacturing designs and retrofits to ensure compliance.
Review designs with third-party vendors to meet standards and codes.
Commission and operate fire protection equipment.
Create and manage manuals for fire protection systems.
Operate, manage, and troubleshoot fire prevention systems.
Develop inspection and fire drill plans.
Interpret drawings and verify construction compliance.
Recommend improvements for work methods, safety, and tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant technical experience.
Trade Certification preferred.
3+ years of experience with fire protection systems and life safety.
Knowledge of NFPA, ICC, and fire protection laws.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and engineering tools.
Willingness to work overtime or be on-call as needed.
Preferred Experience
Experience in semiconductor facilities or large-scale industrial plants.
Management of utility equipment and facility optimization.
Experience with legal licensing and trade-specific management.
Position starts in Tempe, AZ, and transitions to Peoria, AZ.
