Role description: Arcadis is looking for an
Electrical Engineer
to join our Resilience Water Team in either of our offices in North Carolina or Florida. You will provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection and monitoring and control system designs to support projects for the Water and Environmental Business Lines. You will manage tasks and oversee the work of junior staff, reporting to a Senior Engineer and mentored by a Principal Engineer. The ideal candidate is performance-driven and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Role accountabilities
Support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities.
Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, equipment audits, construction oversight, etc.
Develop project/task scopes, schedules, and budgets; support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment.
Provide electrical design and coordination of projects with emphasis on power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire alarm systems, and monitoring and control systems for water, wastewater, and industrial projects.
Perform design work with CAD programs (Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for electrical systems in Engineering Design and Construction projects.
Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
Provide engineering services during construction phases: review equipment submittals, shop drawings, and respond to contractor RFIs; conduct field inspections and project oversight for deviations from design and safety compliance.
Perform system analysis using tools such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
7 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
PE License.
Key Skills And Attributes
Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) or Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux).
Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
Willingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers.
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.
Ability to balance multiple assignments to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
10 years of experience.
Prior consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities.
