Engineer, Electrical-Nuclear role at Aecon Group Inc. Two Electrical Engineers with experience supporting modification work at nuclear power facilities will join a team of engineers and designers at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.
What is the Opportunity? United Engineers and Constructors, an Aecon Company, is seeking two (2) Electrical Engineers with experience supporting modification work at nuclear power facilities. The successful candidates will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.
Primary Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, develop nuclear plant modification packages.
Perform electrical calculations in support of the modification packages.
Provide field installation support to the client’s implementation team.
Understand the electrical task’s scope and requirements.
Education What You Bring to The Team: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Professional License Engineer In Training (EIT) License is Preferred.
Experience and Requirements
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of related electrical design experience with nuclear plant engineering and design.
Minimum Requirements: Must be a Citizen of the U.S. and able to obtain unescorted access to a U.S. nuclear power plant. Ability to prepare documents and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Requirements
Current or recent design qualifications to the Standard Design Procedure at a commercial nuclear power plant.
Demonstrated knowledge of switchyard design, protective relaying, transformers, circuit breakers and switches.
Demonstrated knowledge of IEEE, ISA, and NEMA standards.
Level Specific Responsibilities
Takes ownership of engineering work performed on a project.
Experience working with others in a Project Team environment.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Field experience is a plus, along with the ability to perform site walk-downs.
