Manufacturing Engineer (Tier 1) Location: Homerville, GA Wage: $76,419 to $80,000 Provide general support to the engineering department. Identify areas for product improvement and assist in developing appropriate solutions. Monitor and improve machine processes, develop work instructions, and train employees to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across the plant by using downtime tracking tools and creating Pareto charts of downtime events. Participate in implementing safety improvements and evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs. Assist in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints. Participate in projects that reduce downtime and scrap, investigate operational problems affecting production, validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability, and develop or improve lean processes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and developed work instructions. Refer to more senior engineering staff for complex reviews. Assist senior engineers in developing new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency. Safety and hazard information: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration, loud noise level, and potential exposure to hot plant temperatures on a seasonal basis. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field. At least 18 months of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
