The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy. The engineer is responsible for the calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system. This spans the entirety of the lifecycle of development through conceptual phase, strategy development, calibration execution to subsystem and vehicle level validation including robustness evaluations. The responsibilities will be carried out across all different types of propulsion system concepts and will include varying levels of electrification. The work will coincide with a team of calibration engineers and functions to deliver system level functional objectives mainly related to emissions compliance.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering

Minimum of eight years of total work experience, with at least five years of experience related to engine system development including related technologies and subsystems such as combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and its algorithm including diagnostics.

Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy

Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data providing meaningful summaries and next steps

Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently

Effective communication skills and able to create and present information in a clear and concise manner to colleagues and management

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering

Work experience in the area of spark ignition engine controls and calibration preferred but not required.

DFSS green belt or higher

Execution of Problem-solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S)
