Overview
Are you a Senior Turbomachinery Engineer ready to take full ownership of critical hardware at the heart of a pioneering clean energy system? On offer is the opportunity to lead the design, build, and testing of high-pressure, high-temperature helium circulator turbomachinery for a compact, zero-emissions power system. You'll be responsible for taking this component from development and testing through to production integration, working cross-functionally to deliver performance, reliability, and manufacturability. This position would suit an experienced turbomachinery engineer ready to lead a full hardware lifecycle in one of the most exciting clean tech projects in the world.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and testing of helium circulator turbomachinery for the primary loop system.
Own full lifecycle engineering for components, including supplier engagement and schedule management.
Perform advanced thermal and fluid analysis to guide design and validate performance.
Conduct trade studies to optimize for reliability, cost, and system-level performance.
Create manufacturing instructions, test plans, BOMs, and risk assessments (FMEA).
Oversee build and integration efforts, from concept through assembly and testing.
Collaborate with other engineers to ensure alignment across mechanical, thermal, and system requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on turbomachinery design, build, and testing experience.
Strong grasp of turbomachinery fundamentals and development best practices.
Proficiency in fluid modeling (compressible and incompressible flow).
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated ability to own a complete hardware development cycle.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
