Job Description
Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated
Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialist
to join our team. This is a
Part-time position (24 hours per week) .

Job Responsibilities
Effectively communicate with patients to obtain maternal-fetal history and informed consent, assisting physicians in optimizing examinations and interpreting results. Explain procedures to patients to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation. Assist in performing CVS, Amniocentesis, and image optimization studies per departmental protocols.
Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques and isolation precautions related to specialty procedures.
Recognize clinical or emergent problems in maternal-fetal patients that may interfere with exams, take appropriate actions, and ensure optimal outcomes. Understand IVs, heparin locks, and central line usage as they relate to sonography, as observed by supervisors and peers.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent; Degree from an accredited Sonography Training Program.
No licensure required.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start. Completion of Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program within 6 months if not previously certified. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology upon start.
At least two years of hospital or clinic experience in specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies.
