Job Description
The Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging functions as described in the staff technologist job description. In addition, they will perform mammographic imaging and assume QA/QC responsibilities. The candidate must be self-motivated, able to use independent judgment, work with minimum supervision, and be empathetic in high-stress situations. Position Details
Day Shifts Employment Type: Full time (40 hours per week) or Part-time (20 hours per week) Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Associate degree in Allied Health Completion of CAHEA approved school of Radiologic Technology Licensure / Certification
Registered Mammography Technologist by ARRT or registry-eligible; must achieve Mammography certification within six months of hire Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Maintain Continuing Education credits (24 CEC in two-year period) and other ARRT requirements Maintain 15 Continuing Education credits (CEC) in Mammography within a 3-year period Duties / Responsibilities
Perform routine breast imaging with optimum diagnostic quality and patient comfort Maintain compliance with policies and procedures unique to Trinity Health Breast Imaging Center, including needle localizations, specimen imaging, patient call backs, and core biopsies Demonstrate competence in advanced breast imaging techniques (e.g., spot compression, magnification, lesion and calcification localization, breast implant procedures, and breast specimen imaging) Perform and document accreditation testing requirements of agencies such as ACR, State of Michigan, and Mammography Quality Standards Act Report problems identified through QA/QC testing to the coordinator or supervisor and document corrective actions Participate in department meetings, orientation, in-service programs, and quality assurance programs; engage with hospital committees related to women’s health Our Commitment
